Happy Fish
Nature Play has received full support from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Funding Scheme - the "Cumulative Learning Programme" of the "Make a Difference" Academy to explore how to upgrade and improve the pilot version of a local environmental education project - "Happy Fish", hoping to strengthen people's love for nature. We will lead everyone to explore the earth's conditions from a global perspective in a creative, thoughtful and interesting way. Families can learn about the earth's ecology together and work together to inspire children's higher-level thinking and empathy.
The fish in the ocean swim back and forth in the deep sea, freely and at will. If there is food here, they will swim here. If it is too cold there, they will swim to other places. They rely on the intuition of nature. It feels very different to swim from the ocean to the land and walk to the city. Busy people living in cities have thousands of plans, but it seems difficult to put down their work and rules and live freely. Is it really possible to live a simple and leisurely life like a fish?
Teacher Dangdang has participated in various art creations and teachings over the years. She is a Hong Konger who longs for a simple and comfortable life. In 2014, she went to the deep sea and personally felt the fish swimming around her, which made her feel extremely happy. This feeling of happiness has always attracted her, and she hopes that humans can protect the ocean and nature and continue this happiness. So she used waste paper to make small fish and exhibited them around the world, hoping to share her beliefs.
1) Happy Fish @ Park (1-6 years old)
Since 2016, Nature Play has brought Happy Fish to the park to interact with children aged 1-6, play nature games, tell stories with their bodies, and use full-body touch for parent-child interaction. After completing the activity, we hope that the children will have a better understanding and feeling of concepts such as fish, ocean, and protecting nature, and that parents will have more inspiration on how to interact with their children.
2) Eco-friendly Paper Maker Workshop (6-12 years old)
Nature play encourages children to create with their hands, allowing them to not only think, but also act in unison with their body, mind and spirit. They are able to understand the efforts behind things, paving the way for future planning and implementation strategies. Children use environmentally friendly waste paper to create unique fish, boats, bracelets, necklaces, small flower plates and other daily necessities in a natural and simple way.
3) Environmental Art Life (Community People)
One of the community environmental education projects of Nature Play is to encourage parents and community members to experience using waste paper and other environmentally friendly materials to create small fish and daily artworks through "Happy Fish". In the process, they can come up with environmentally friendly ideas and add a sense of art to their lives.

For the above three types of environmental education projects, we strictly select materials and design processes to ensure that participants can learn through play, and improve their creative handcrafting skills and artistic sense while practicing environmentally friendly living. From January to June 2019, Nature Play received full support from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Funding Scheme - the "Cumulative Learning Programme" of the "Make a Difference" Academy to explore how to upgrade and improve the pilot version of a local environmental education project - "Happy Fish", hoping to strengthen people's love for nature.
