Nature Play – Cloud CHAT (Online Learning) What is the tide?

Nature Play Community instructor Mu Ye loves to study animals. She once went to Borneo in Malaysia to study orangutans. On April 15, 2020, we discussed the natural phenomenon of high and low tides with friends of all ages, and introduced the small animals that can be seen during low tide and some of their physical characteristics that adapt to the environment. The children all listened attentively to the class and could ask questions immediately, which the instructors answered. The 30-minute class started on time, and everyone cherished the opportunity to interact and learn together online. We hope that after the epidemic, everyone will come with us to the coast for field study and learn more.

The community instructor selected a short video introducing tides from the Hong Kong Observatory to share in class. With the instructor’s vivid explanation, both adults and children could easily understand the principles of tidal solidification. After class, students can watch the clips again to review what they have learned.

Nature Play Tour invites caring and capable expert instructors from the community to have a relaxed online ZOOM CLOUD MEETING with local parents and children aged 6-12 on various interesting topics during the epidemic, promoting social interaction while strengthening children's general knowledge. Children can talk with community expert mentors at home without any pressure about general subjects such as nature, wild life, creative game ideas, art and music. Even if it is inconvenient to go out, the epidemic will not hinder social activities, and children can continue to develop and exercise their thinking, social skills and enthusiasm for learning.
