Where does food come from?

We need food to survive. After all, where does food come from in the eyes of Hong Kong children? Most of the food they eat every day is handed out from their home kitchen, placed on the table by restaurant waiters, or bought from stores and markets. It's not surprising if children think food comes from stores and markets, that watermelons grow on trees, or that apples have no skin.
Nature play visits local farms and food production factories, designs game stories and other activities to allow children to personally come into contact with the source of food, understand the survival and growth of crops/food in nature, and feel the origin and continuation of life. In addition, the family can go for a walk in nature on weekends, enjoy the natural breeze, smell the fragrance of flowers and plants, and relax their body and mind. When we get home, we will have more topics to talk about, and perhaps the children will have a different understanding of food. Sharing Happiness 195 We have held farm activities where we introduced children and parents to organic farming. We also introduced different seasonal vegetables each time, such as corn, carrots, broccoli, sweet potatoes, Chinese cabbage, roselle, etc. Under the guidance of our game ambassadors/community parents, children unknowingly develop an interest in farms, farmers’ lives, and crops. Children with different personalities will also take the initiative to ask questions and get in touch with nature according to their own progress.
