ART JAMMING - Happy Painting
Children today are very busy, going to school, doing homework, and attending interest classes. The physical and mental pressure they bear may not have sufficient channels to reorganize and relieve it. The "Parent-Child Outdoor Art Jamming" designed by Nature Play is aimed at relieving children's emotional stress, enhancing parent-child connection, creating space for children, and allowing them to regain simple happiness.
The Boys' and Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong conducted the "Hong Kong Children's Happiness Factor Survey" in 2016 and 2008 to understand what makes children happy. The results showed that 57.1% of the children felt happy (2008: 73.8%), 32.1% were half and half (2008: 23.6%), and 10.8% were unhappy (2008: 2.6%). To summarize the survey, fewer children felt happy in 2016 than in the 2008 survey , indicating that children's happiness has been decreasing in recent years. This trend is basically consistent with the results of other studies on children's happiness in Hong Kong. This phenomenon deserves social attention because if children remain in a state of "unhappiness" for a long time, it will have a negative impact on their psychological and mental health when they grow up. The survey found that children believe that it is simple to regain their happiness by allowing them to have personal space, achieve success, and participate in more group activities and outdoor sports.
The outdoor Art Jamming designed by Nature Playground allows children to draw while playing by inspiring their five senses. Parents are also invited to participate in the drawing and understand the children’s drawing process. With the support and encouragement of their parents, children can get inspiration outdoors. They don’t have to worry about whether their painting skills can make the objects look realistic. They can freely bring to life their inner world that cannot be expressed in words. In the world of children, it is such a satisfying thing to be able to freely realize their own ideas. The instructor will also share how to use this activity to encourage children to express themselves and strengthen parent-child communication.
We invited "Zhi Xin Ma" and her team to paint with children and adults. Zhixinma graduated from the Department of Fine Arts of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and later obtained a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Leeds in the UK. He has been engaged in art administration and art education for more than ten years, and continues to create in his spare time. Her works have been exhibited in the community. Her works are lively in color and interesting in shape, and are deeply loved by children. Zhixin's mother has a pair of young children. She hopes that her children can enjoy artistic creation and make their lives more fulfilling. Parent-child outdoor art jamming registration: https://goo.gl/forms/onU2ISN57TQByNTo1
